so far ive cut out ice cream chips gallon milk(I never use a gallon in a month) popcorn pizza

Ive only got a microwave and a electric skillet and crockpot unless you count my one at a time grill which only can fit one patty at a time.

I can't get food stamps. This month I got lucky and my 20 dollar a month grocery budget is 100.00 this month. I got gave frozen green beans, frozen chicken patty and frozen cauliflower which ive never cooked in my life.. Oh and over 13 individual wrapped corn dogs. They where from the store(I was with person when they bought them)and there individually wrapped so no freezer burn!they gave me stuff cause I helped there child setup and clean her first fish tank.

My point is I need help trying to come up with cheap meals I can cook since my cooking stuff is very limited. My cat has ripped everything to shreds in my cabinet so I've basically got canned veggies.. Im going to look into child proof latches to keep my cat out of the cabinets.

I do try and lookout for sales.I try and coupon. Im feeding 2 people and that's it so no huge pots of food are ever cooked cause they would go to waste.

You should def look into couponing, If you have a harris teeter near you i get my best deals from there, and theharristeeterdeals.com tells you all how to do it! Ive gotten into it recently and im addicted.

If you tell me what you currently have i can try to come up with some recipes for you

I would definitely look into just searching for like... university/college student, or budget friendly recipes (which won't consist solely of ramen and pb&j sandwiches, haha!) The fact that you have a crockpot is awesome because they're super handy.

I know you said you're only feeding two, but you could make a big pot of something and then freeze the leftovers and reheat them later for some more meals in the future.

Also I agree with about the couponing. I don't do it myself, but I've heard there're always some good deals lurking around.

/ive never heard of that in my life..Ive got 2 grocery stores near me one is expensive the other not as bad I have a walmart and kroger but both are a hour drive.

Coupons in news papers are very rare for me.All my area gets is P&G coupons. So no red plum or any of that stuff.I try looking on sites like coupons.com or brand websites.

Oh well dang, you can look up www.couponmom.com she has a list of a BUNCH of stores, so the ones near you might be on there and then she tells you exactly where to find the coupons at. I use her sometimes, but i recently found that harris teeter site and i like it much better. I only get a few tangible coupons in the mail the rest i print out online.

Check and see if your walmart does ad matching. If so then the day you plan to shop bring in ads that have better prices than walmart. Around here we have local stores that do "fresh friday" or like special 12 hout or 3 day sales. Times like that people get stuff SUPER cheap. Like at time a dozen egg carton for 49 cents. So look into it, if they do then collect ads from the paper and online that cover the date you plan to shop and snag some savings. Some people make it easier on themselves by making the list of items they need then list the cheapest price and what store had that price so if the ad has to be seen its easy to locate. Also to make your cashiers life easier let them know you have ad matches before you start putting items on the belt or before the cashier starts.

Try looking for coupons in magazines and newspapers! You can always find some kind of deals somewhere. Look on Pinterest for budgeting advice and stuff! I HIGHLY suggest Pinterest! It's my life saver and you can find cheap recipes!

http://www.supercook.com/#/recipes

^Find thousands of recipes you can make right now with the ingredients you have available at home. Just type in what you have!

Here are some of food items I suggest you always have for cooking/eating:

*Pasta + pasta sauce *Rice (it adds a lot to a meal and it cheap+lasts forever!) *Peanut butter *Canned chicken/canned tuna/canned salmon *Bananas (they can be added to many recipes instead of eggs and have full of vitamins and minerals) *Eggs *Carrots (they last awhile) *Potatoes + sweet potatoes (can be turned into so many things and have a long self life, & if you buy them in a bag they're usually cheaper) *Tomato soup *Bread (put in freezer so it lasts longer) *Canned beans *Anything canned, since it has a long self life *Look into getting Italian spices since they can be used for a lot of different recipes (oregano, garlic, onion, basil, parsley)

Not seeing my state for the kroger deals..

I have the walmart savings catcher app on my phone.I even get friends receipt and scan them.

I do get better homes and gardens magazine for free and redbook for free.just not very many coupons in them.As far as newspapers go like I said my area just gets P&g coupons.

On bright side coupons.com had $1.00 off Barilla blue box pasta coupon and $3.00 off Boost drinks. The other member in my house has to drink things like boost to rebuild there system.Pasta sauce I found out is on sale for $1.00.

Savings catcher is good however if you can get a pack of eggs for under what the shelf price is you should do ad matching. We get people in here that ad match, use coupons and the savings catcher.

If you have any crazy couponing friends, maybe ask the for help? My boyfriends mom is amazing at it! I don't know if you have can find any online deals either.

Also - if you shop online - sign up with Ebates because you get cash back for shopping online. You get a check in the mail every 3-6 months. It's another one of my life savers! I highly recommend it and it's 100% safe :)

I just saw an ad on tv for an app called Flipp (yes with 2 p's) that helps collect weekly grocery ads for your area to use and show to get ad matches or simply figure out what store has the most deals for your list.

I would call your local SNAP office and get a straight answer why. If you're not over income there could be another reason. If the person is not helpful, I honestly would hang up and try calling back. You'll eventually get someone who's actually trying to do their job.

Also, do you have an Aldi's or something near by? I love that place.

Aldi's is 1hour and 20 minutes away.Costs quarters to use a cart which is odd.I went shopping in my town cause my ride was running off track and time I would have got to kroger it be very late when I would make it home.I saved 10.00 in coupons.I got a free thing of water cause I bought 2 packs of Gatorade had a 1.00 off 2 packs of Gatorade and store had a deal where you buy 2 packs you get a 6 pack of water free..

Some beans are cheap, and it's filling so I would recommend that. My dad said when he was in college he just lived off cheap bags of beans and cornbread. He cooked the beans in a slow cooker but you can also make it on the stove over a few hours.
